Afternoon Tea at the movies with Tyneside Cinema

Treat yourself and a loved one or friends to Afternoon tea at the movies. Watch an old film and enjoy the most delicious afternoon tea in Newcastle. Personally, this is the nicest one I’ve tried in the City centre so far. So, let me tell you about it.

Where?

Situated a 2-minute walk away from Monument metro station, Tyneside cafe/bar can be entered from near the box office. You will be escorted into the curtained off into your own section along with several other tables. However, one minor point I’d make is to bring a jacket as I was rather cold in the corner. With this random summer heat making it extra humid outside I didn’t bring one as I didn’t think it would be necessary whilst sitting inside.

My thoughts

Amazing, honestly, this was the nicest afternoon tea I’ve had in Newcastle so far. Astetically pleasing to the eye we were excited to taste it all.

What do you get?

Price: £20.00

Tier 1– Oscar-winning fresh sandwiches – Roast chicken salad, a thick slice of homemade sausage roll and a cut of a grilled cheese with spring onions.

Tier 2 – 2 delicious plain scones accompanied with a scoop of clotted cream and a jar of strawberry jam. garnish with a fresh strawberry which I used on my scone.

Tier 3 – Lemon meringue, vegan carrot cake, Chocolate ganache slice, pistachio and walnut tart, ginger macaroon and some fresh strawberries.

Even though your afternoon tea will be accompanied by tea or coffee, you don’t need to worry if you need another drink. Just fill out one of these snazzy bits of paper.

What did I think?

My brother and I really enjoyed the expeirence. our movie was Beuaty and the Beast it was like going back to our childhood. I appreciated the beautifully decorated top plate with the chocolate sauce. Thank you for this as it really made my day! This is perfect for birthdays, engagements, surprises.

Why not add a glass of Prosecco to your experience? It’s only and extra £4.00 you also get table cards to order drinks during your film. Don’t worry, you won’t be disturbing anyone. The staff are great they keep an eye on your table and grab your card and bring the goods.
