10minute Quick Recipes with Bay’s Kitchen to beat the IBS bloat

Bay’s kitchen Selection of Sauces

This post is in collaboration with Bay’s Kitchen. I have been kindly gifted these sauces to help create some easy recipes to avoid the IBS bloat. If you are unlucky like me to have symptoms of this, I feel for you.
I am currently undiagnosed but the doctors have tried to ply me with medications and quite frankly, I should just change my diet. This is something that a lot of doctors will not tell you. The pharmaceutical industry generates too much money from illnesses that can be caused by poor diets. There are plenty of documentaries around this if you’re interested. Such as, What the health, In defence of food, Cowspiracy and more on Netflix.

So, what is Fodmap?

“one of a group of compounds thought to contribute to the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome and similar gastrointestinal disorders. The term is used mainly with reference to a diet that is low in these compounds (which are mainly carbohydrates).” – Google

All Sauces in this post are onion free, garlic, wheat free and gluten free. Simply by removing certain ingredients from our diets, we can maintain a healthy digestive system. The vegan-friendly sauce is free from the irritating IBS triggers. Bay’s Kitchen is on a mission to help protect us from the rapid painful bloat. I can go from looking normal to 9month pregnant and its very painful when you experience it. Anything that can help reduce this, is an absolute godsend.

Tomato & Basil

The classic basic sauce that you can’t go wrong with. I decided to make a Quorn mince Bolognese style dinner with ribboned courgettes. I love making courgettie ( like spaghetti but strong of courgette) or ribbons as it just helps give you that pasta texture. Don’t get me wrong I can eat pasta sometimes but I prefer Courgette as I don’t get any after stomach symptoms.

Bay’s Kitchen Sweet and Sour

Sweet & Sour

A great favourite of mine whether you make this with chicken or Quorn you can still enjoy the flavours rushing around your taste buds. Personally, I prefer this with Chicken fillets or Quorn nuggets. I actually preferred this Sauce to a normal Sweet and sour sauce as it didn’t taste like vinegar, which I find previous ones have.

Bay’s Kitchen Jalfrezi Curry with Basmati rice

Jalfrezi Curry

Spice things up with an Indian explosion of flavour. So, what did I decide to make? I stayed pretty plain with this one as I used chicken fillets and then diced them up, added the sauce and I was good to go.

For the above recipes, I bought 600g of chicken fillets from Aldi for £2.99 and used 300g of chicken for the curry and same for the sweet and sour.

1. Seal chicken in a frying pan with a little bit of vegetable oil then put under the grill. Once cooked ( please check if necessary )
2. Add the sauce as you only need to simmer for 2 minutes.
3. Put Aldi Basmati rice in the microwave cook for 2 minutes.

Courgette Ribbons

Courgette

I love doing different styles of courgette as I find it a great way to reduce my pasta intake.
The benefits:
1. Less calories
2. Full of vitamin B6, C and K.
3. Adds colour to your plate
4. Super tasty!

Do you have any favourite foods that are low Fodmap? Have you tried any of these sauces before? I would love to know what you made.
